Proper storage keeps your POSCA markers working like new for longer.
Lay them flat. Store markers horizontally rather than upright. This keeps the paint evenly distributed and prevents it from settling or separating inside the barrel.
Seal the cap tightly. POSCA paint is water-based and dries out quickly when exposed to air, so always snap the cap on firmly after use.
Keep them at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, hot cars, or damp spaces — extreme heat or humidity can thicken the paint or dry out the tip.
Shake before use. Even with careful storage, pigment settles over time. Give markers a good shake before each use, and prime the tip on scrap paper if it's been a while.
A pencil case, marker roll, or shallow drawer organizer is an easy way to keep a full set flat and tidy between uses.
